New hires at the Clinic and families waiting on a closing date use it the same way: land somewhere real while the rest sorts itself out.

The space
The apartment sleeps six, which is enough for a household in transit. Two queen bedrooms with closets, hangers, shelving and blackout blinds, a sofa that opens into a queen bed, and two full bathrooms. The kitchen is stocked to cook every night if you want to: quartz counters, stainless appliances, a dishwasher, stove and oven, pots, pans, glasses and silverware. The living room has a full-size couch and accent chairs, so nobody is sitting on boxes for a month. Hardwood runs through the open living and dining area, and there is desk space for the mortgage calls, the school forms and the change of address list. Laundry is in the apartment, which is the thing people miss most in a hotel.

The neighborhood
Fairfax is a good place to learn the east side from. Cleveland Clinic is a walk, Case Western Reserve University is two minutes by car, and University Hospitals is five. Meijer Fairfax Market, five minutes on foot, is a full grocery store with a coffee shop and a gift shop. Ohio City is eleven minutes and Downtown Cleveland twelve, which is a reasonable way to spend a Saturday deciding where you want to live next. Little Italy is six minutes by car, Severance Music Center three, and the Cleveland Museum of Art three.
