A furnished two bedroom apartment for an extended work assignment near Cleveland Clinic, a five to ten minute walk from the main campus in Fairfax, Cleveland. The second bedroom works as an office on weekdays and a guest room when family visits on a Friday.

The space
Desk space is already set up in the main room, and both bedrooms are quiet enough for calls with a door shut. Each has a queen bed, a closet with hangers and shelving, and blackout blinds that cover the early sunrises in June. Two full bathrooms means a colleague can share the apartment for a month without either of you thinking about it. The kitchen handles real cooking rather than reheating: quartz counters, stainless appliances, a dishwasher, a stove and oven, cookware, glassware and a coffee pot. Hardwood floors, oversized windows and an open living and dining area keep the place from feeling like a long-stay hotel room. Laundry is in the apartment, so a month here does not need a laundromat, and the sofa opens into a queen bed when someone comes along for part of the stay.

The neighborhood
Fairfax is a short walk from Cleveland Clinic's main campus and two minutes by car from Case Western Reserve University, which covers most work reasons for being on this side of Cleveland. Meijer Fairfax Market is five minutes on foot for groceries and coffee. Downtown Cleveland is twelve minutes by car when the assignment includes meetings across town, Ohio City eleven, and Little Italy six, all reasonable places to take a visiting colleague to dinner.
