Room for a family in an apartment across from Cleveland Clinic: two bedrooms, two bathrooms and beds for six, in Fairfax, Cleveland. When treatment runs for weeks, relatives rotate in and out, and this holds all of them without a second hotel room.

The space
A king bed in one bedroom, a queen in the other, and a sofa in the living room that opens into a third queen. That covers a patient, a partner and two more people who drove in for the week. Each bedroom has its own closet, blackout roller blinds and a ceiling fan. Two full bathrooms keep the mornings from stacking up, and one of them has a shower with a bathtub. A love seat sits beside the sofa, so nobody ends up perched on a kitchen stool. The kitchen has quartz counters and full-size stainless appliances, which is what makes cooking for four or five people plausible. There is a desk for whoever is still working through it.

The neighborhood
Across the street from the campus means someone can come back between appointments rather than spend the day in a waiting room. Cleveland Clinic Children's is part of that campus. Meijer Fairfax Market is downstairs with a full grocery, a coffee shop and a gift shop, useful the day someone works out they packed for two days and are staying two weeks. Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital is four minutes by car and University Hospitals five. On a slow afternoon the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is three minutes and the botanical gardens four, which gives kids somewhere to be.
