Cleveland Clinic's main campus is a ten minute drive from this two bedroom apartment in downtown Cleveland, which suits patients and families who would rather stay somewhere with a little life around it. Parking is free in the building's garage, so a seven o'clock appointment does not begin with hunting for the car.

The space
Two queen bedrooms, each with a TV, and two full bathrooms, which is what makes the place work when one person is resting and another is coming and going. The living room sofa opens into a queen bed for a second family member. Hardwood runs through the living and dining area, carpet in the bedrooms, tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen has a stove, oven, dishwasher and full cookware, so meals can be plain and made at home on the days when that is all anyone wants. There is a desk for the paperwork that treatment generates, a dining table for four and bar seating for four more. You have the place to yourselves for the whole stay.

The neighborhood
The Clinic's main campus is a ten minute drive east and University Hospitals is thirteen. What downtown adds is everything else inside a few minutes: a restaurant on the ground floor of the building, East 4th Street and Playhouse Square three minutes away, Progressive Field one, Ohio City six across the river. Some families through a long course of treatment prefer a short drive out with somewhere to walk in the evening. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is twelve minutes for relatives flying in.
