When you book a Nearwell apartment, you will see an option to add Guest Protect travel insurance before you pay. It is optional, and your booking works the same either way. The plan comes from Generali Global Assistance, not from us.
Nothing is added to your booking unless you choose it.
Nearwell is not the insurer and does not administer the plan.
The option appears on the booking site, before you pay.
Nearwell earns a small commission when a guest buys the plan at checkout. We would rather you hear that from us than find it out later. It is also why this page sends you to Generali for coverage answers instead of answering them ourselves.
Coverage for forfeited, unused, non-refundable, prepaid trip costs if you are prevented from taking your trip, or if your trip is interrupted, for a covered reason. Interruption also covers the added cost of returning home early.
Reimbursement for added expenses such as overnight lodging, meals and local transportation when a covered reason delays you for 12 consecutive hours or more.
Coverage for loss, theft or damage to your baggage during the trip. If a carrier delays your baggage 24 hours or more, the plan reimburses necessary clothing and toiletries you buy in the meantime.
Coverage for medical and emergency dental costs if you get sick or injured during your trip, plus telemedicine access. Evacuations must be ordered by a physician and approved by Generali.
Available when you buy the plan before, or within 24 hours of, your final payment, and you are medically able to travel on the day you buy it.
Travel assistance around the clock, roadside assistance, identity theft resolution and concierge services.
After you buy, you can review the plan and cancel it for a full refund of the plan cost, as long as you cancel within the free look period, have not filed a claim and have not departed. That period is 30 days for Indiana residents and either 10 or 15 days everywhere else.

Most people buy travel insurance for a vacation. You are probably booking around a date somebody else set.
Procedures move. Discharge comes earlier or later than anyone predicted. A storm sits between home and Cleveland on the morning you were supposed to drive in. You paid for the apartment before any of that happened.
Booking direct with us already covers part of this. You can extend a stay, and a real person answers when you call. Our own cancellation terms are in your booking confirmation, and they are separate from anything the insurance plan does.
What we cannot do is give money back for costs that are already spent, cover a hospital bill in a city you were only passing through, or replace a suitcase that never arrived. That is the gap a travel plan is built for.
Whether your particular situation is covered depends on the reasons the plan lists, and that list is in the plan documents. Read them before you decide.
Four questions worth asking Generali before you buy. The answers depend on your plan, your state and your dates, which is why we do not answer them for you.
Many travel plans treat that differently from a vacation. If the reason for your stay is care at Cleveland Clinic, ask this one first.
Worth asking if your stay runs several weeks or months, or if you are here on a 13-week assignment.
Trip cancellation pays for the reasons the plan lists. A change of plans on its own is not one of them.
The timing rule matters. That coverage is available only when you buy before, or within 24 hours of, final payment.
Choose your dates and start a booking on the Nearwell booking site.
The travel insurance option appears during checkout, before you pay.
Add it or skip it. Your reservation goes through the same either way.
If you have already booked and want to look at the plan, call Generali at 866-999-4018 and ask what is still available to you.
No. It is optional, and your reservation is the same either way.
Generali Global Assistance. Coverage is underwritten by Generali U.S. Branch, New York, NY, NAIC #11231. Nearwell is not the insurer and does not administer the plan.
Yes. We earn a small commission from Generali when a guest buys the plan at checkout. The plan price is set by Generali. Buying it, or skipping it, changes nothing about your reservation.
Travel insurance is not health insurance. The plan's medical coverage is for sickness or injury that happens during your trip. For care you traveled here to receive, ask Generali how the plan treats it, and check with your own health insurer.
During checkout, before you pay. Timing also affects the pre-existing condition provision, which is available only when you buy before, or within 24 hours of, your final payment.
The plan has a free look period. Cancel within it for a full refund of the plan cost, as long as you have not filed a claim and have not departed. That period is 30 days for Indiana residents and either 10 or 15 days in other states.
Trip cancellation covers forfeited, unused, non-refundable, prepaid trip costs when you cancel for a covered reason. Whether your situation qualifies is defined in the plan documents. Nearwell's own cancellation terms are separate and are in your booking confirmation.
